Taken near one of the parking lots at school. I can't remember this tree being down when I started school. I wonder if it fell last weekend when we had all the rain from the hurricane. It's quite possible. We had a branch the size of a small tree fall off of one of the big trees in our front yard.
Thank you, Mother Nature, for not letting it hit my bedroom.

It makes me sad when big old trees fall. Like..think of how long it took them to get that huge! I like when they twist like this one, though...There was one when I worked in WI this summer that looked like someone took hold and twisted it a couple times before dropping it to the forest floor. :) Very neat.

Oooh, I'd like to see something like that. I love it when big old trees rip completely out of the ground, and you can see all of their roots and everything, especially when mushrooms and vines and things start growing on them.
