You started it! *points to jess*

And now it's my turn to not post a picture. But! Since I'm now officially addicted to wordles, you get one of all the things I like.

I can't figure out why Fred kept coming up in a bigger font, unless the people who made wordle are huge Angel fans or something... ^_^

Giant puffy sky marshmallows!

The clouds an hour ago were so cool. I love huge clouds like this.

Finally! Something rapid!

Okay, so I'll have to admit that I was kinda stuck on this prompt. My first idea was to get my friend Noel, who has crazy-long hair and plenty of moshing energy to flail around like he did last week in a mosh pit. But, since there are no particularly convenient mosh pits, and I haven't had an opportunity to take pictures of him since I started the prompt, I used the next best thing. My brother. So here's my brother, flailing.

I like this place

This is the one of the student union buildings at my school, and I love being in it at night. It's so big, but comforting at the same time.

Guess what was at my school today?

Okay, I know it's blurry, but how often do you get to say there was a giant purple inflatable donkeyphant at your school? So it's all I'm gonna say today. Enjoy.

I Just Realized Summer's Over

Goodbye, summer, and thank you for providing me with yummy tomatoes.

Oh! And also! I went to a book sale the university library was having yesterday, and I bought some cool old books, and this is my favorite:

Excuse the bad lighting in my room. It's the cutest little book, though, and I got it for $2.

Tree marked for death

I hate it when I see trees with those spray-painted X's. It always reminds me of the time my aunt and I took a walk near her house, and all of the trees were marked like that. There's a townhouse development there now... Wonder what this will be.

Day of many pictures

Today was an eventful sort of day.

First of all, it's Frodo Baggins' birthday. Happy Birthday, Frodo! So I took Frodo out for a photo in the backyard.

While I was outside, I encountered a ginormous spider web...

...and a tiny tree.

Later, I got to see Chinua Achebe speak at the concert hall of my school. It was such a privilege, to be in the presence of such a great author and hear him read from his works. I really need to read Things Fall Apart again. The last time I read it was back in high school.

They wouldn't let us take pictures during the program, but I have a photo from before it started that I quite like.

I'll end tonight with a quote:

"People create stories create people; or rather, stories create people create stories."
- Chinua Achebe

Sunday picture and a new prompt

Picture for today:

And I suppose it's time for a new prompt, right? Well, if it is, the word for this round is "rapid".

Bad Kerri, post pictures!

It's sad, how I can't stick with anything for more than a week before I start slacking off. Anyway, I've got two pictures. One for Friday, and one for edible!

This is for Friday's picture, taken as I was driving home from my friend's house at 11:30 at night. I love light squigglies.

This is something that's actually edible for, guess what, the edible prompt. The background's not much to look at, but I absolutely love the way the light was shining on the orange.

Are jellyfish edible?

Jellyfish. Nom nom nom.

Another couple of pictures from my vacation in August. I took 800 pictures, I've gotta put them out here somehow.

This is THE best farmer's market in the world. They've got peach salsa, and tomatoes, and grapes, and salad dressings, and cucumbers, and peanut butter, and everything was so delicious. The best part? They had free samples of EVERYTHING.

So, because I still haven't taken any good pictures for the 'edible' prompt, I'm putting these ones up for now.

Look Closely at the Signs

This is from my trip to the Outer Banks in August. The joke in this picture was completely unintentional, and I didn't even notice it until later, when I was looking through my pictures. Look carefully at the signs, it's quite funny.

(And sorry about the crazy formatting, but you can't see the details unless the picture's enlarged.)

It's still Monday, isn't it?

So I uploaded my pictures last night and then completely forgot to post. Here's my picture from last night.

Gotta love the street-crossing button.

Familiarity

I've got two for this prompt, but centered around the same thing.

These were taken in the place where I hang out when I'm at school and have nothing to do. Every year, when I start a new semester and I'm all frazzled about my new routine, coming back to this place makes me feel so much better. It's always going to be there, and is almost always empty, just waiting for me. Safe, and calm, and familiar.

Wait! I've got one!

So the day's an hour away from being over and I've got my picture:

Taken earlier today in my backyard. I took some other nice tomato pictures, too, but I didn't want to overdo it with the tomatoes. Maybe I'll save those for deep into winter when there's nothing green left.

Still working on that familiarity prompt...

Going Indoors

The necklaces on their rack by my bedroom door. I love getting things in focus up close, and this was an angle that I just couldn't resist.

The library break room ceiling. So many squares. It's ugly and beautiful at the same time.

First Prompt

The prompt for this week is:

familiarity

Brought to you by the Random Word Generator, Rice Krispies cereal, and Viewers Like You. *lolz*

Taken near one of the parking lots at school. I can't remember this tree being down when I started school. I wonder if it fell last weekend when we had all the rain from the hurricane. It's quite possible. We had a branch the size of a small tree fall off of one of the big trees in our front yard.
Thank you, Mother Nature, for not letting it hit my bedroom.

Let's see if this works, shall we?

First of all, thanks to Jess for inadvertently giving me the idea to do this. We'll see if I can last longer than a few weeks. So, here's my photo blog, and to start off, a photo of one of my favorite parts of this summer: growing my own tomatoes.
